Pipedrive DNS Records Setup - Step-by-Step Domain Authentication

August 23, 2024

How to Setup DNS Records for Pipedrive DMARC email domain authentication?

With increasing use of email technology, spoofing and spamming have also become a major concern. To protect the users from scams, email inbox providers introduced some security standards that must be complied by the email senders.

SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are the commonly used security standards. They make sure you are a legitimate sender and your emails are safe to open - only then they will be delivered to your recipients' inboxes.

If your domain lacks any of these authentication measures, your emails will be rejected by the servers. That is why, email delivery websites like Pipedrive provide you with the necessary DNS records for your email domain authentication.

In this article, we will guide you on how to configure Pipedrive DNS records and authenticate your domain for better and safer email communication.

  6. Add these records to your DNS provider.

Setup Pipedrive DKIM CNAME Records:

  1. Login to your DNS provider. We are using Cloudflare for now.

  2. In the Websites tab, click on your domain.

Go to your Website in the DNS provider

  3. Go to the DNS tab and click Add Record.

Click DNS, go to Records and hit the Add Record button

  4. Select type CNAME.

  5. Copy the record name and paste it into the Name field.

  6. Copy the record value and paste it into the Target field.

  7. Turn off the proxy and click Save.

Add the DKIM record to your DNS dashboard

  8. Add the second DKIM record by following the same steps.

NOTE: Turn off the proxy for every CNAME record. When enabled, it diverts the traffic to the DNS server instead of the email server which causes verification issues.

Setup Company Identifier TXT Record:

This record connects your company and domain, ensuring that only you can send messages as a trusted Pipedrive sender. It helps prevent anyone else from pretending to be your company.

  1. In your DNS dashboard, select type TXT.

  2. Add the record name and value in the dedicated field.

  3. Click Save.

Add the TXT record to the DNS provider

Verify Pipedrive DNS Records:

  1. After adding all records, click the "Refresh status" option.

    Click

  2. If records are verified, green checkmarks will appear with each record.
